Use in hazardous areas
To avoid the risk of explosion products used in hazardous areas are subject to strict requirements. ifm connection technology developed specifically for these applications complies with the international standard requirements and may be used in hazardous areas. The connectors of the EVC series have been tested with an impact energy of 4 joules. To comply with the requirements the nut of the connector has to be firmly attached to the sensor so that it is no longer possible to open it manually. The ifm product range for potentially explosive atmospheres comprises sockets, cable plugs and jumper cables in M12 design. Even in harsh industrial environments, the connectors are protected against unintended loosening by a special vibration protection.
- For applications in hazardous areas
- Connection technology meets the M12 standard (EN 61076)
- With EC type examination certificate for components
- Mechanical end stop to protect the O-ring from destruction
- Sawtooth design protects against shock and vibration
